_ SYNPOSIS

Documentary short about Jeremy Hutch, a CA-based motorcycle craftsman and the spirit behind his custom shop HUTCHBILT. As featured on META, we explore both the tame inside the shop and the unrelenting wilderness.

_ CAPTURE

Shrouded in the sands of California’s Joshua Tree desert, HUTCHBILT motorcycles are meant for uncharted territory, the unforeseeable harshness of which has found its way into the musical score just like its glory.

_ PROCESS

I wanted the film to flow to the rhythm of the music just like the tires follow the grooves of the mountain; naturally, the score came first.

_ SESSION

Using found sounds from the HUTCHBILT custom shop intercut with sudden bursts of reminiscence, we subtly underline Jeremy’s narration. As the landscape opens up, so does the music in an epic, open-eyed crescendo.
